Bridgette Macheke is the Founder and PR Director of MoonDawn Media. She has led the young public relations company from its inception in June 2015 and has since proven herself as a trendsetting and passionate PR executive with a strong drive to challenge the status quo. The business has grown from a single-woman show to become a team of six strong professionals.
Bridgette attributes her success to her unfailing optimism and passion for PR and marketing. She has combined her skills and experience in marketing and publicity with her in-depth knowledge of the media to secure consistent and valuable media exposure on behalf of her clients.
Having achieved measurable success in the South African PR industry, Bridgette was nominated for a PRISM Award in the category ‘Best Up and Coming PR Professional for 2015’ and is recognized as one of the top professionals in the industry.
Brian Mabuya, Managing Director at MoonDawn Media, is a qualified information security professional who assists a number of financial institutions with FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) compliance.
Brian is a born problem solver and is passionate about technology and people. In overseeing the social media and communications aspect of MoonDawn Media, he feels he has his bread buttered both sides.
“I believe in MoonDawn Media, because it’s a lively, trendy and highly creative business. The same can be said for the people who work for it, who are experts in their respective fields, have great focus and know exactly what they are doing. Upwards is the only way.”
At MoonDawn Media and Communications, Samu’s role entails developing and executing public relations campaigns that integrate with our clients’ marketing strategies. Her PR passion is driven by the vigour to help clients uncover, create and amplify their brand stories through goal-oriented public relations. She believes in the power of relationships, and reiterates that great relationships are the cornerstone of success in the PR game.
Backed by her strong relations with a network of targeted and relevant media houses that we partner with to share our clients’ stories, going around her day-to-day duties – including pitching story ideas to media, arranging interviews, speaking engagements and other media opportunities for her client base – is her greatest shot of adrenaline. Samu officially received her media qualification from Boston Media House in 2017. That it took her some extra two years to finally accomplish her dream qualification due to challenges beyond her control is a true indicator of her never-say-die attitude, which has been the backbone of her early success in her young PR career.
Taking a look at Samu’s day-to-day activities at MoonDawn Media, from monitoring the media to reviewing current campaigns, it seems as though there are few schedules more hectic than that of someone working in the PR environment, especially at a PR firm that is relentlessly going up!
In his role as Media Manager at MoonDawn Media, Victor Moolman’s key responsibilities include managing our social media department, multi-media and photography. Backed by his strong media background, he is also responsible for all client interviews with a view to nailing down targeted content that our clients’ audience want to engage with. Victor’s passion for photography and writing was a major factor in opting for this career path. Photography and writing are his fervour; they instil fire in his gut and make him feel alive.
Upon completion of his Matric, he realised that this desire wouldn’t be satisfied by anything else, other than Journalism. He went on to study for a Diploma in Journalism at Varsity College and graduated in 2015. Having been exposed to several spheres of the Journalism trade during his college days, he went on to become a journalist upon completion of his qualification. After several years on that side of the fence, he has decided it’s time to move into fast-paced public relations.
Having dealt with MoonDawn Media during his journalistic days, Victor fell in love with how the young company goes about its business, especially the passion for its clients and the drive to get everything right the first time. It is this passion and attention to detail that Victor wants to be part of, and he is optimistic that more successful days are guaranteed as the company continues to set the pace in the modern PR game.
She has always been a whiz with numbers, and a career in finance was a natural progression for MoonDawn Media’s finance manager. With her extensive experience and detail-oriented approach, Nonhlanhla has previously helped companies in different spheres of business make sound financial decisions, and she has since been entrusted with the critical accounting functions at MoonDawn Media & Communications to keep the young and trendy company financial solvent and compliant.
After completing a certificate in Pastel Payroll, she went on to acquire a Diploma in Bookkeeping, and is currently completing her Bachelor of Accounting Science, majoring in Financial Accounting, through the University of South Africa. She is also a registered tax practitioner with the South African Institute of Tax.
